The Battle of Arcronia
05:13
|
|||
Beyond the planet built on Rock & Roll
Where magicians do their crystal balls
Lies the Kingdom of Arcronia
And the Toad Queen named Constupa
Their castle holds a purple stone
From where all sight and sound and song was born
They call it the Grand Mercury
And with it the cosmos live in harmony
But now the goblins are coming
And war drums they are drumming
In supersonic time
To get a taste of the mercury
And its power so divine
The knights are assembling
The kingdom is crumbling (who can stop their strike?)
The castle is rumbling
The goblins are grumbling
The captain suddenly (Mojo Saturn and company…)
Orders his company
Mobilize
Mojo Saturn is the head command
Lightbulb Guy is his right hand man
Corporal Pop works the ship’s controls
And The Wizard wields the magic scrolls
They’re protectors of the gracious queen
Defending the Grand Mercury
With cunning wits and bravery
From cosmic trolls and foul fiends
Now the battle begins and who ever wins
Will settle or destiny
Who will become the cosmic mastermind
And rule the universe eternally
The warlocks have powered their way up the towers
Placing Mojo in a magic sleep
Now their evil hands hold the Grand
Mercury
Narrator: As the Knights of Arcronia scramble in chaos the goblin army return to their home planet, Zanadu. Presenting the Grand Mercury to their leader King Zanduki he declares...
(I possess the stone now the power is mine)
King Zanduki: The Grand Mercury, the power, it’s…it’s Mine!
(All mine)

Narrator: The Toad Queen Constupa and her royal court engage the final escape craft as the planet begins to explode. The Kingdom of Arcronia has been destroyed and the goblins of Zanadu now possess the Grand Mercury crystal; with its power King Zanduki and his impish henchman will silence the sound of the galaxy once and for all. The only Arcronian brave enough to face King Zanduki and retrieve the crystal is Captain Mojo Saturn. However, in the battle below, he’s fallen victim to a warlock spell of inertia and has sunken into a languorous state.
Narrator: On board the S.S. Starmaker the Magician attempts to revive Captain Saturn.
The Magician: I’ve ventured all forms of wizardry but I can’t break the warlock’s spell. My magic is of no effect. He needs medical resuscitation.
Corporal Pop: The instruments on board are not robust enough. We can’t treat him here.
Lightbulb Guy: Corporal Pop, might I suggest we set our course to the android planet Cyrus 18. My creator Doctor Circuit may be able to perform the necessary medical procedures and restore the captain. I’m afraid it’s our only hope.
Corporal Pop: Good thinking Lightbulb Guy. Alert the Toad Queen Constupa we are setting our destination for Cyrus 18.
Narrator: Placing the fate of the galaxy into the hands of this android doctor the ship roars into lightspeed without a second to spare. The energy on board is frenzied throughout their journey. However, outside the unmoving quiet of despair looms amongst the stars. For now the most powerful artifact in the universe is in the hands of evil.

Sit down lad and let me scan your chart
What is the nature of your symptoms so far
Concurrent stings or tingling tings?
Please select one of these options on the screen
Hold still now as I begin the inspection
For disease or retroviral infection
Rest assured what I find
Doctor Circuit’s gonna make it alright
Meet my nurses they’re computerized
And my surgeons they are motorized
Now let’s have a little look inside
Using the power of my macro-scan
And frequencies in stethoscopic wide band
My programmed treatments have just only began
Back from the lab the data’s positive
Though these results are somewhat inconclusive
Just one clue is all it takes
To begin to build a case
Now as my systems calculate the proper dosage
Of medicine to treat this patient’s diagnosis
Rest assured what I prescribe
Doctor Circuit’s gonna make you feel alright
I’m a modulating andro-gram
Placed in the body of a silver man
Manufactured and designed in Japan
Diagnosis that slips the human mind
Or deadly microbes that to which a man is blind
My robotic eyes can see them magnified
(Magnified)
Meet my nurses they’re computerized
And my surgeons they are motorized
Now let’s have a little look inside

Captain Saturn: Uggggghhhhh….
Corporal Pop: Captain!
Doctor Circuit: It looks like the treatments have taken effect. He’s begun to awake.
Captain Saturn: What’s…where am I?
Lightbulb Guy: Captain we are on the planet Cyrus 18. Doctor Circuit here has revived you!
Doctor Circuit: Wha…what?
Narrator: Just then The Magician enters the hospital room.
The Magician: Is it true doctor? Is he cured?
Doctor Circuit: Vital signs have returned to normal.
The Magician: Oh! Praise be to magic! Captain we were…
Captain Saturn: Enough of this. What about the Goblins-
The Magician: C-Captain…
Captain Saturn: What about the stone?
Narrator: Suddenly a message begins to come through on the room's communicator.
Lightbulb Guy: It’s from the Toad Queen Constupa!
Toad Queen Constupa: Captain Saturn, a cosmic disturbance threatens our way of life. Since the day of Merlin we Arcronians have lived in joyous harmony; enraptured amid the heavenly aura of The Grand Mercury. Spellbound by its seraphic beauty we have turned to the crystal eon after eon, just as our fore-bearers had, in search of wisdom and revelation. However now, what was once the provenance of our artistry, will become the purveyor of our destruction; for this ultimate power now lies within the wicked hands of King Zanduki. In his profane clutches the music of the cosmo’s will deafen and the melody within our hearts will cease to play forevermore! Our planet is no longer. We people have a new fate. A vagrant existence betwixt the endmost reach of space and the void. Astray without refuge where starlight doth not shine. Captain Saturn you are the final hope. You must travel to Zanadu and retrieve the stone, the soul of the galaxy. With it we Arcornians can begin the creation of a new homeward. The destiny of all that is mirthful depends upon you!
Narrator: Captain Saturn plunges into a quiet state of reflection. He ponders what has now come to fruition. All he’s ever known has at once vanished into the abyss, lost amidst the vapor of yesterday like so many nameless worlds before him. How could he accept that Arcronia was no more; that the music and magic of his home now ceases to be? However difficult he understands vainly rejecting these circumstances would be a betrayal unto his people, for he was now their only hope. The final curtain has begun to be drawn and soon the fortune of Arcronia would be told.

In My Crystal Ball
02:47
|

Pleasant memories
That slowly slipped away from me
Now appear so clearly to me
In my crystal ball
It’s so hard to believe
Sometimes the tears that we must weep
And the joy we fail to keep
They’re just like my boyhood fantasies
Slowly fading with time
Yet still apart of my life
Faded hopes and dreams
I let drift it seems
Now I see them so vividly
In my crystal ball
It’s so hard to believe
That this life’s only meant to be
A drop of rain in an endless sea
Disappearing before it’s even been seen
But looking back on it all
It’s like a crystal ball
Pleasant memories (memories)
Faded hopes and dreams (hopes and dreams)
Appear so clearly to me
In my crystal
It’s like a crystal
Crystal ball
(Crystal ball) In my crystal ball

Narrator: Approaching Zanadu; the crew observes a dense noxious haze encompassing the fiercely lush planet, the surface of which is a wildly overgrown jungle of technicolor vegetation. Danger loiters in this place like a viper patiently awaiting its prey. If Captain Saturn and the crew have any chance of recovering the Grand Mercury and restoring the music of Arcronia, it will take much more than brute force. For King Zanduki and his goblin horde are experts in mystical warfare. This gallant undertaking shall be the adventure of a lifetime.

Zanadu
05:35
|
|||
Upon the mystic cave
Dawn rose on the road that laid ahead
The magician thought long and hard
Lifting his gaze now this is what he said
Mr. Saturn you got enough
Crystal magic within your touch
To free the sound of the galaxy
And defeat the savage bastards of Zanadu
Cosmic bastards rule the galaxy in Zanadu
Now they’ve taken control
Over our Rock & Roll
Here’s what we're gonna do
Kick some ass in Zanadu
As the Goblins beat upon their drums
The fires burned as we faced the mighty hun
He was the chief of their warlike clan (I am the chief)
And not a fan of our outer space rock band
King Zanduki: Who dare challenge King Zanduki?
Mojo Saturn you’ve got some guts
If you believe you’ve got the touch
Then try to pry this jewel from me (Ha Ha Ha Ha)
And you’ll spend eternity in Zanadu
Cosmic bastards rule the galaxy in Zanadu
Now they’ve taken control
Over our Rock & Roll
Here’s what we're gonna do
King Zanduki: This infernal Rock & Roll will be silenced!
Beyond the winds of Jupiter (Zanadu)
Past the sea of Mercury (Zanadu)
Above the dunes of Neptune
Zanadu
King Zanduki: Is that crystal magic? My power!
Kick some ass in Zanadu
King Zanduki: I am defeated. You will pay for this. I will have my vengeance.
Narrator: And so our heroes leave the planet Zanadu victorious. Thanks to Captain Mojo Saturn, King Zanduki’s evil plot has been thwarted and music will once again be heard across the stars. However our story doesn’t end here, for the Arcronians still have no planet to return to. Hastily Mojo Saturn & the crew of the SS Starmaker get to work constructing a new home planet by harnessing the potent rays of nearby star power and exercising ancient techniques from the dawn of magic. Soon the kingdom will return to their harmonious lives ruled by the tenderhearted Toad Queen Constupa. Presently spirits appear high for the mellifluous people. But little do they know another disruption awaits just around the corner; for within the royal ranks of the queen’s court there is a spy, brewing a dastardly scheme of his own to silence the Grand Mercury once and for all.

Transmission coming from far away
Oh oh oh oh oh
SOS we are drifting through space
Oh oh oh oh oh
Starmaker, are you clear for descent?
Starmaker, do you hear our message?
We see no trail and we hear no trace
Oh oh oh oh oh
Yes we’ve been up all night
Gathering up our supplies
And if you look in the sky
You’ll see a new light
Starbright
Flashlight
Brand New
Night light (We’re making a star)
Midnight
Moonshine
Homemade
Twilight (We’re making a star)
Gold and blue like other stars in the sky
Oh oh oh oh oh
We got the tools now we’re hanging a light
Oh oh oh oh oh
So just give us some time
To perfect our design
And we promise to shine
And light up the night
Way up high
All the power
We employ it
The wind the sun and the rain
It took some time but now we’re
Making a star
Transmission coming from far away
Oh oh oh oh oh
What will you do now that there is day?
Oh oh oh oh oh
I guess we’ll settle our minds
And enjoy some leisure time
And keep an eye in the sky
And see who could use some light
Then we’re back in the mines
Gathering up our supplies
And if you look in the sky
You’ll see a new light
Starbright
Flashlight
Brand New
Night light (We’re making a star)
Midnight
Moonshine
Homemade
Twilight (We’re making a star)

Narrator: After much hardship the people of Arconia have rebuilt their kingdom on a new planet. The recently constructed castle is astir. The servants bustle about frantically preparing the royal ballroom for a feast being held tonight honoring Captain Saturn and all that we have endured on our journey so far. But although the grand dining room is filled with commotion the halls of the palace are deathly silent, except for the faintest sound of footsteps tapping in the night.
Two shadowy figures creep about the chambers. One is slender and wiry while the other is very short with long pointy ears protruding out of the side of his head.
The Goblin: Ahhhhh; C’mon Boss…
Narrator: The short one says.
The Goblin: …Lurking around like this in the dark is given me the creeps!
Song-less Count: Silence you buffoon! You’ll alert the guards!
Narrator: The tall figure gives his dopey partner a disciplinary slap.
The Goblin: Youch! Ah; my head!
Song-less Count: Listen you dimwit. I’m paying you to help me overthrow this inutile kingdom; not give oration. Silence!
Narrator: A sliver of moonlight pierces through a window onto the lanky figure’s face revealing two duplicitous eyes which are immediately recognizable; for these eyes can only belong to non-other than…the Song-less Count. For generations the Song-less Count has served in the Queen’s court. Awaiting an opportunity to steal the throne and fulfill his wicked dream of enslaving the Arcronians. And tonight, as the celebration carries on downstairs, the Grand Mercury sits unguarded in the magical chamber; ready to be destroyed!
Song-less Count: Ugh. Just listen to them down there Goblin. Their merriment is an assault to my evil nature. Well, enjoy it while you can fools. For under my rule this infernal racket will be silenced!
Narrator: And so the Song-less Count and the Goblin lurk through the castle halls. Hidden under the cloak of moonlight.

Back on the scene
If you really know what I mean

I don’t know why
But making love just don’t feel right
‘Til the moon starts to rise
Well alright

Body (workin’ that body)
Ooh Ooh

Touch me (please touch me)
Free me (honey come free me)
Ooh Ooh
Moonlight
I’m no dog in heat
Just a child out on the street
But I ain’t never been shy
Cause from time to time
I need a little lovin after midnight
Just like any other might
And tonight
The mood is right
In the moonlight
Foxy (you’re so foxy)
Body (workin’ that body)
Ooh Ooh

Touch me (please touch me)

Narrator: The magical chamber is emblazed in a radiant purple glow. The Song-less Count gazes deep into the Grand Mercury.
Song-less Count: This immense power has finally met its match. Soon the kingdom will yield to me. Goblin, destroy this rock & we will lord over this kingdom in infamy!
Narrator: The goblin warlock begins to perform a destructive spell.
Song-less Count: Yes! It’s time! The pr-
Captain Saturn: Not so fast!
Song-less Count: Saturn!?
Narrator: Standing in the doorway is Captain Saturn, the Toad Queen and her royal guards.
Toad Queen Constupa: Song-less Count, I have foreseen the day your thirst for power will transform you into a traitor.
Song-less Count: Transform? I’ve awaited this moment for eons. To subjugate this pathetic kingdom to my evil will; to once and for all bring an end to this dreadful music!
Toad Queen Constupa: These royal songs are the life-force of the galaxy.
Song-less Count: Pshaw! You call these songs!? To my ears they sound like a cacophony of progressive nonsense; so over produced with instrumentation that any theme residing in the melody is completely stifled by the composer's lack of restraint. But enough talk! Now it is time to kneel before me!
Narrator: The Goblin blasts off a magic missile just as the royal guards propel themselves onto him. The warlock tumbles down and his magic missile careens in a wild trajectory blowing a hole in the wall. Just then, the Toad Queen casts a psionic wave; the blistering ray spins around the room before striking the Count, melting him into a smoking puddle of thick bubbling goop.
Song-less Count: Arrregggghhh!
Toad-Queen Constupa: Take this goblin to the dungeon!
Narrator: The goblin spends many of the following nights in the cold damp dungeon before being taken to the royal court and placed on trial.

The Goblin
04:46
|

Another day another miserable soul
Standing before me in my court of law
Pleading his case with pathetic dismay
As the unyielding jury decides his fate
(Just a look at this little man)
Now let’s hear his testimony first hand
(I can see he is a guilty man)
I call the little goblin to the stand
(A single look at this little man)
Do you swear to tell the whole truth
And nothing but the truth
(I can see he is a guilty man)
Your soul be damned?
The Goblin: The whole truth, Your Honor?
I do
Yes i’m green and small
But that’s no crime at all
However in your captious mind
I am a goblin in your eyes
But how does that give you the right
To slay me
Loneliness and strife
In this prison i’ve been confined
Blindly searching for the light
Yet every single time I try
To simply make a better life
You must hate me
I
I am the creature you’ve condemned
And rightfully I am
But I
Just like you I am a man
In your heart you understand
So i’ve been cursed to this tragic life
How can anyone think it’s alright
To decide If I die
Aren’t only certain men to know
Who shall be the one to cast the first stone
Not I
Not you
Good people don't you fall for this pitiful tale
No decent man would ever come to find
Himself on trial for such a sordid crime
Set this sinner free and evil shall prevail
Society was formed with but one principle in mind
A system of justice is what keeps us civilized
Juror: After much deliberation we have reached a verdict.
(After much deliberation)
Judge: And what say you?
Juror: We the jury find the defendant…guilty
( We the jury find him guilty)
Judge: Very well. I hereby sentence this creature to death!
Goblin: No!
Set me free
Now let me be
I’m not the evil beast
I seem to be
Set me free
Now let me be
Set me free
If you say your a man
Then your telling lies
The evil is clear
In your goblin eyes
You’ll pay with you life
For this vile crime
We’ve heard all we can
Now it’s time to die
Set me free

Captain Saturn: Stop! Stop this ceaseless violence now.
Narrator: Captain Mojo Saturn rushes into the courtroom.
Captain Saturn: Set this goblin free.
Crowd: *Gasps.*
Judge: Order! Order in the court!
Captain Saturn: Your Honor. Royal Court of the Toad Queen; if I may. We say this Grand Mercury is the spring of all peace and harmony throughout this galaxy. Generation after generation of Arcronian’s have heard the song of the Grand Mercury. We’ve used its power to discover the answers of the future. Yet in this courtroom; passion has become our master. What good are all the virtues of this magical power without the virtue of love? This…this little green man before you is not our enemy. No; he is our friend.
Narrator: The courtroom falls silent and after a moment the Toad Queen speaks.
Toad Queen Constupa: What is taking place here today moves me. Goblin, though your behavior was abhorrent, I understand you were under the command of a real treasonist. I hereby grant ye a full pardon.
The Goblin: Ah man! Ah thank you Captain! I couldn’t spend one more minute in that dank old dungeon!
Arcronian: Toad Queen! With the goblin set free, what does this mean for the future of Arcronia? For the Grand Mercury?
Toad Queen Constupa: The time has come for us to be free of the Grand Mercury; for its power is infinitesimal compared to the power of the heart. From this day on, Arcronia is no longer land of magical artifact. It is now the planet of brotherly love.

Your mind’s alive and
Your body is restless
Taking a beating while
Your heart is in endless pain
You can’t take it
Just can’t take it
(You just can’t make another day)
When you’re breaking
There’s no way to endure
Thinking of quitting but
You’ll carry on somehow
Ain’t giving up cause
We’ve come too far to turn back now
Don’t you lose it
Keep on movin
(Don’t throw it all away)
Make your mind up
This time you’re gonna
See it through
Don’t turn (don’t turn)
Back time (back time)
Just make (just make)
Make up your mind (make up your mind)
This road we’re on has been
winding us in circles
With no direction till our
Hopes have been led astray
Lost and hopeless
Losing focus
(Somehow we’ve lost our way)
Under pressure
The weights too much
To endure
Though up ahead appears
Darkened and desperate
With one another we can
Make it to a brighter day
Don’t look back now
(Everybody)
Don’t get pushed down
Into the fire before
You make your way through the flame
Don’t turn (don’t turn)
Back time (back time)
Just make (just make)
Make up your mind (make up your mind)
Don’t turn (don’t turn)
Back time (back time)
Don’t look (don’t look)
Don’t look behind (Don’t look behind)
It’s a mystery

(Gotta be don’t turn back time)
Never mind the agony

Don’t turn (Don’t turn)

Narrator: Well, that’s the end of the album. The Arcronians cast the Grand Mercury into the depth of space and to this day it drifts aimlessly; its limitless power waiting to be unleashed. The goblins of Zanadu and the Arcronions have set aside their ancient feud over the crystal and now live in peaceful harmony, in a unified Kingdom ruled by the power of love. And rumor has it; on a still evening, when the earth is aglow in smoldering moonlight, one need only put an ear to the stars to hear the heartfelt music of the Arcronians.
